Our last full day in Romania was spent travelling back to Bucharest in order to catch a train to Sofia Bulgaria the following day. The journey from Sighisoara to Bucharest is incredibly straight forward. We woke up at 5am and walked from our hotel in the old town of Sighisoara to the train station (took about 30 minutes). Our first full day in Sighisoara was spent wandering the old walled city. We started the day off with a delicious breakfast at our hotel. Our hotel was on the main square in the old town, everything we wanted to see in Sighisoara was within easy walking distance ( about ten minutes maximum). The train ride from Brasov to Sighisoara starting off as an interesting adventure. We tried to purchase train tickets the day before at the station in Brasov. The lady at the information desk at the rail station refused to speak to me, or make eye contact, so I was unable to even try and purchase tickets. Before we arrived in Brasov, we knew very little about what to see and do. Besides seeing the Black and White towers and ogling the Brasov Hollywood sign, there is sooooo much to see and do in Brasov Romania! When researching about Romania, one of the tourist attractions we were most excited to see was Bran Castle. Whilst staying in Brasov, we went on an incredible day trip to Bran Castle and Rasnov Citadel. Bran is located about 45 minutes outside of Brasov, by city bus. The Local Bus Terminal in Brasov is located just outside the Old City. For our first full day in Romania we took the train to Brasov Romania, the heart of Transylvania. We started the morning off in Bucharest city centre, and walked rather leisurely across the city towards the main train station, Gara de Nord. Romania! This was the place we were most excited to visit for my husband’s first time in Europe!
