Getting From Conwy Wales to London England

October 5, 2019 by hollyGS

Here is an in depth video I made about the whole ordeal, but if you prefer the written version… I will outline that below! To start off, we did not intend on going to London on this trip, because accommodation and food can be so expensive!! We originally booked a round trip flight in and out of Dublin, Ireland with Airtransit, but about a month before the trip, Airtransit cancelled the return flight and said that there were no longer […]

Conwy, Wales| Gwledd Conwy Feast

October 3, 2019 by hollyGS

Here is a video we made about the festivities at the 2018 Gwledd Conwy Feast, the video really does give you a better feel for the event then this post does. The highlight for use was the hot mulled wine and hot Welsh rum! Gwledd Conwy Feast is a yearly festival held in Conwy, Northern Wales. The festival celebrates the harvest and eating all the bounties of the land. The event includes food trucks, craft sales, local trades people, entertainment […]

Chester to Conwy WALES (by train)!!!

September 7, 2019 by hollyGS

It was sad to leave the beautiful city of Chester, although we were not sad to leave our accommodation (which we explain in this post). We decided that we would splash out a little bit of extra money and take the train all the way into Conwy, Wales. We booked our tickets ahead of time online through a website called trainline. They made me download the app to access my ticket. However, boarding the train was super easy, we just […]

York to Chester by bus | Northern England (Where not to stay)

August 11, 2019 by hollyGS

We decided it would be much more cost effective to take the bus from York to Chester for £27.60 (two people) , as opposed to take the train which was well over three times the price. We booked our tickets online with national express (bus) and received an email confirmation (that wasn’t even required to board the bus, they had a list with our booking on it). The bus left the stop just opposite the York train station (#RJ) at […]

YORK, England |Self Guided Walking Tour

Here is a link to the Self Guided Walking Tour of YORK ENGLAND I made: https://embed.alpacamaps.com/journey/c543cb19-a974-11e9-96fe-067ec0c7e8f4/default Stop #1 The SHAMBLES The Shambles is an iconic street is York, know for it’s overhanging timber framed buildings. The street used to be home to many butchers and was known as “The Great Flesh Shambles”. CREEPY? The buildings all look as if they were built without a level, which could be because the majority of them where built in the 14th century. Now […]

YORK, England |First Impressions

July 25, 2019 by hollyGS

We arrived in York by train (from Edinburgh) around 11 am. This afforded us lots of time to explore York before sunset! We started out in the city centre, where we wandered the Shambles Market and the Shambles. The Shambles is an iconic street is York, know for it’s overhanging timber framed buildings. The street used to be home to many butchers and was known as “The Great Flesh Shambles”. CREEPY? The buildings all look as if they were built […]

Edinburgh to York| Scotland to England by TRAIN (train? bus? car?)

July 20, 2019 by hollyGS

We left Edinburgh Waverly Station at approximately 9am. The journey took a total of 1.5 hours. We booked our tickets online a few months in advanced directly through the virgin train website. The trip cost us 17 pounds each, which is a bit more expensive than the bus, but the comfort of the train was worth the extra money to us. The tickets were sent to my phone, and we asked the lady attendant which track to board at. It […]
