We arrived at Taipei central station in hopes of finding the “nerdy area”. We were on the lookout for super famicom games (Super Nintendo). Instead we found a lot of gachapon machines, and spent quite a bit of time and money on these capsule toys!

After this, we stopped into a tiny ramen shop for delicious ramen. I got a vegetarian tomato ramen, which reminded me of the ramen I had at Itamen in Nagoya Japan (Link to that post here). Jives had a pork ramen. The lady there was so nice and friendly, and the food was amazing. I really wish I had written down the name of the shop!

We then headed to Ximending shopping area. I have heard this area compared to Shibuya in Tokyo, and now I can see why the comparison is made. The area was filled with neon lights and sounds, street food and tons of shopping! I bought a plaid skirt, and we filmed for Jives’ rap video.

We then headed back to the MRT and took the train back to our Taipei Zoo stop. The gondola up to our accommodation ended at 4pm, so after seeing that the bus would be an hour wait, we decided to walk instead. The walk took about an hour, but it was STRAIGHT UP A HILL!!!

We stopped along the way for snacks at the 711. Back at our airbnb we filled the giant bath tub overlooking the city, and had a soak with our snacks and drinks, while watching the lights over the city of Taipei.
