We woke up and tried to make breakfast in our gorgeous airbnb (see previous post), but it lacked a pot or frying pan to cook our eggs… so we ended up microwaving eggs and buttering the toast with a spoon! Don’t you love when airbnbs are so well stocked with supplies?? Haaaaaa.

We then left our airbnb and headed to Elephant Mountain. We made our way to the start of the hiking path via Liuzhangli station. Xiangshan station is closer to the path, but we wanted to stop for a coffee along the way. We got off the metro at Liuzhangli and stopped at an adorable place along the way for coffee. I got a salted caramel latte! This route to Elephant mountain led us through interesting back streets and a local food market!

The hike to the the top of Elephant mountain only took us about 15 minutes, but maaaaan was it steep! We stopped many times along the way to take photos and film. The view from the top of the hiking path was completely worth the hike! We had a complete view of Taipei, with Taipei 101 right in the middle! We would totally recommend this hike! If two out of shape 30 somethings can do it…..

After Elephant Mountain we headed to Lungshan Temple!
