After we explored the Old Anping Fort/ Fort Zeelandia, it was on to the Anping Treehouse! This treehouse used to be an old dutch trading outpost/ warehouse. Around the beginning of the Japanese colonial time, the opium trade was made into a government buisness, so this warehouse went abandoned, until it was briefly made into a salt storage facility. Years of abandon have allowed the banyan trees to take over this building, making it into a treehouse!

The entrance fee is 50 NTD (or free as part of the pass). There is a museum at the entrance, where you can see artifacts and learn more about the Dutch colonial era.

We wandered through this cool “treehouse” and then sat in their cafe for a craft beer. I had a winter melon beer, and Jives chose a jasmine IPA. We then walked to the Eternal Golden Fort….
