The back little streets of Quebec City really could be mistaken for somewhere in Europe. As we walked around the narrow streets, I was reminded of Gamla Stan in Stockholm Sweden and Jives was reminded of Dublin Ireland, this was probably helped by the fact that there was a big Irish pub on one of the main corners in the old town core.

We worked our way out of the old town centre, and towards the waterfront walkway. There is a very beautiful pedestrian walkway that follows the old city walls and has incredible views of the waterfront and lower old town.

All a long this walkway there are cannons and old artillery. You can climb up on the cannons for a photo op or just to play at being an old-timey solider.

As you walk along this pathway you will get your first glimpses of the Chateau Frontenac and Dufferin Terrace. There is a lovely viewpoint in a park looking up at Chateau Frontenac. I would recommend stopping here for a photo op before climbing the bridge, and then the stairway that will take you up to Dufferin Terrace.
