
The Oldest Temple in Taiwan | God of War Temple and Confucius Temple Tainan

After visiting Fort Provintia near by, it was a very brief 2 minute walk to get to the oldest temple in Taiwan. The God of War Temple or Sì Diǎn Wǔ Miào 祀典武廟 was built sometime in the 1660s. This temple is dedicated to the God Szu Wu Miao. The temple complex was a series of about 10 buildings, each one with an altar and place to burn incense.
