Here is a video we made while visiting BEITOU Hot Spring Village in Taipei Taiwan

After exploring Longshan temple in Taipei, we took the metro to Beitou, the hot spring area north of Taipei. We got some snacks and drinks and had a picnic in the park on our way to the touristy hot spring area.

The area was gorgeous! We walked from Beitou station, following the river, all the way to the hot spring source. Along the way we found a place where you could place your hands in the hot spring water, and enjoy the almost boiling water.

The hot river runs between two streets, in a sort of gorge. We wandered along the river, photographing and enjoying the gorgeous views and warmth.

We spent a few hours just wandering and enjoying the nature. We bumped into a German couple who told us they couldn’t go into the public hot spring because the rules had changed, and you needed to be VERY covered in a bathing suit with a skirt or long shorts with a shirt for men.

We also happened upon a group of cosplayers taking photographs, dressed as characters from Demon Slayer.

All in all, I would recommend a day trip to Beitou, but better yet, I would recommend staying at one of the hot spring hotels in order to fully experience the onsen waters.
