We couldn’t check into our airbnb until 3pm, so after arriving by the High Speed Rail at about 1pm, we took the metro to Formosa Boulevard Metro Station (with this super cool stained glass looking roof depicting the elements or fire, water, air and earth). Once we arrived, we found a spot to sit down by a river, and enjoyed a beer in the 31 degrees Celsius sun (a nice change of weather for us, we love the heat!)

At 3pm we walked to our accommodation which was a few minutes away. The lady at the front desk gave us our key and we headed up! The apartment was really nice, and very modern, complete with a washing machine and a Japanese style toilet!!! We decided to change into cooler clothing and head to the Pier 2 Art Centre, an old converted shipping area from when Kaohsiung was a massive shipping port.

We took the metro to the Art Park and wandered in the area, checking out dozens of sculptures and art installations for hours!

We also walked through an open air train museum and walked down towards the Love Pier. A lot of the pieces and shops had been dressed up for Halloween, because it was OCTOBER 31st, how had we forgotten!?

We had a beer in a pretty little park, and then headed back to the metro to head back to Formosa Boulevard where there was a massive night market!

The night market was a 5 minute walk from our accommodation! Liouhe Tourist Night Market is the name.

We tried a dish that was a barbecued shell, filled with shrimp, cheese and garlic, as well as a pastry with green onions, egg and oyster. Both were delicious! Next, I spotted a snack that was my favourite when I had visited Taiwan in 2013 by myself, the green onion pancake (famous in Taiwan).

We then grabbed a beverage from the 711 and headed back to our accommodation to watch weird TV and go to sleep!
