After dropping off our bags at the home stay, we headed out to explore more of Jiufen (with our umbrellas in hand). We walked up hill to what I believe is called Fu Shan Gong Miao Zhong Miao Temple. From this temple you can see amazing views of the city below.

We decided to go to 711 and get some snacks and drinks to enjoy on the balcony in out room. We got some onigiri and ramen and beers. We went back out after our “dinner” to see if the day tripping tourists from Taipei had left Jiufen.

Along the main steep roadway there was a film crew filming a show of some sort, Jiufen does look just like a film set, so it makes sense that a lot of things get filmed here.

We then walked back up the stairway, stopping along the way for a beer at a little restaurant with a balcony overlooking the square that the film crew was using to film. (The film crew actually ended up at the same restaurant as us. They sat at a table close by and watched some of their footage.) We sat at the beer place until almost all of the tourist had left Jiufen.

Afterwards we walked all along the now mostly deserted alleyways, and filmed lots of footage!

We grabbed another beer and milk tea at the 711 before heading back to our homestay for a little drink on the balcony.
