Japan’s SUNSHINE COAST🌞! Coastal Caves and a Rabbit Shrine🐇🐰!! (Miyazaki, Kyushu, Japan)

May 25, 2025 by hollyGS

We boarded the Nichinan train at Miyazaki station and took the train to Nichinan station. The train we took left at 11am, as it was a Sunday and there were less trains running. The ride took almost two hours in a super local one car train. We sat in a four chair configuration and put the window down a bit to watch the lovely scenery go by, from bright golden fields full of crops to lush jungle landscapes, reminiscent of […]

Miyazaki’s FOREST SPIRITS!! Haniwa filled Forest In Kyushu Japan

May 14, 2025 by hollyGS

Jives and I woke up at 4:00am to have a bath in the onsen. This time I had the bath to myself for the entire time. It is a really lovely way to wake up. I bathed in both the inside and outside bath, taking a plunge in the cold bath in between. I met Jives out by the vending machine later. He had a weird melon milk and I had a cold hot chocolate without milk. It is traditional […]

The Devil’s Washboard – Aoshima Island! (The Coolest Place I Have Been In Japan)

May 4, 2025 by hollyGS

Jives and I woke up at 3:15am to go to the onsen when it was hopefully not as busy. I entered the bath and placed my slippers in the slipper cupboard. I entered the changeroom and chose a locker near the wall. I could see that there were at least a few people in the bath despite the early hour. I chose a wash station and washed my hair and body. I went to the outdoor bath and sat there […]

April 27, 2025 by hollyGS

I woke up way too early at 2:30am and stayed in bed until 5:00am, I know I will regret this later in the day. Jives and I went downstairs and wrote in our books for a while before walking to the vending machine across the road for our first coffee of the day. Harith woke up just after 6:30am and we decided to pack up and head to the train station earlier in order to get reserved seats on the […]

FLOWER ISLAND Fukuoka! Nokonoshima Island and Fields of Cosmo Flowers

April 20, 2025 by hollyGS

We woke up fairly early once again and enjoyed a canned coffee I bought from the vending machine outside our accommodation, before heading to Lawson to get breakfast foods. I got a miso soup and a lovely spicy salad type dish with pickled daikon radish and cucumber, as well as a rice ball and another coffee. We went back to the room and enjoyed our breakfast foods.  We ventured out a bit later to go to Don Quixote to show […]

FUKUOKA First Impressions (Canal City and The Kirby Cafe)

April 13, 2025 by hollyGS

I woke up at about 5:45am and decided to head to the onsen again as it opened at 6:00am. I headed up to the 14th floor again, and this time I seemed to be the only one. I chose a locker and entered the bath, soaking in both the indoor and outdoor pools for about thirty minutes, at which time an elderly lady entered the bath. I decided to leave to let her enjoy the bath on her own as […]

24 Hours in NAGOYA!! Meiji-Mura Cultural Park (Frank Lloyd Wright Imperial Hotel)

April 6, 2025 by hollyGS

We walked to the Asakusa line to take the train to Tokyo station, stopping to transfer. At Tokyo station Harith activated his JR pass at a booth and we walked to the railway cafe to activate our JR passes. We waited about ten minutes for a man to help us with our passes. He activated our passes, exchanging our vouchers for the JR pass. He then helped us all to book tickets and reserve seats on the Hikari shinkansen to […]

We left to drive to the airport at 8:30am ish, driving to the Park n Fly just east of Toronto. We waited quite awhile for a bus to pick us up to take us to the airport. Tobermory, Ontario!!! Beautiful Nature In Ontario CANADA

March 17, 2025 by hollyGS

We left St.Catharines as early in the morning as we could, the drive to Tobermory took us about five ours in total. The drive from Niagara is a really scenic one! We stopped at Little Cove to swim before heading into Tobermory proper. In order to park at Little Cove you need to book a spot on their website. We had a difficult time booking the parking ahead of time, but we managed it while we sat just outside the […]
