After our delicious vegetarian meal, we packed our snorkel bag and set out for our third snorkel of the day, but this time further north on the east coast of the island, where we had seen the sea turtles on day one. We didn’t see any sea turtles, but we had fun and saw lots of fish and weird shaped coral (one shaped like a giant island with lots of colour corals growing out of it). The water was HOT like hotter than the air, and the air was 30 degrees celsius even in the setting light. It was literally like swimming in a bathtub. It was fairly wavey, so the water didn’t seem as clear as before. We swam for the longest time yet, but had to finally get out, as we were so salty by this point. We headed back to our place and swam in the pool (can you tell we are water people to the max?) and clean up in the shower before heading out with our fanciest clothes on to have some dinner.

We walked to the atm in the north of the island but it was out of order. We then stopped at a place called Pandon Cafe for dinner. People were playing beach volleyball and the restaurant had a giant game of connect four set up, which we tried to play, but the pieces seemed too large to comfortably slide down the board.

We ordered two happy hour priced gin and tonics and two stuffed omelettes with toast. The omelettes were delicious, full of onion, mushroom and green pepper. It was a weird pairing, omlettes and gin and tonic, but it worked!

We sat and enjoyed our meal and watched the sun begin to come down over the north west of the island.

We paid 210,000 and then walked to an abandoned corner of the island in the north western corner, where we put down our towels and took out two beers we had purchased earlier, from our backpack.

We sat down and watched a beautiful pink sunset, as well as a storm over Bali. It was perfect, I would highly recommend doing this if you go to the Gili islands!! We then walked back to our accommodation in the dark.
